Household Chores Toddlers (Age 1–3) Can Actually Help With
SReviewed by Sara · Montessori teacher
What "practical life" chores can a 1–3-year-old actually help with at home?
Completely everyday tasks: sweeping, wiping with a cloth, washing themselves before and after meals, watering plants, and helping in the kitchen with simple cutting using a child-friendly knife.
Remember: change rarely happens overnight — routines need practice, and all feelings are allowed even when a behaviour needs a kind limit. Follow the child, prepare the environment, and let the child do it themselves.
